HSS copyeditors:
We are looking for HSS (humanities and social sciences) copyeditors to edit Taylor & Francis (T&F) books. The job involves checking and correcting mechanical errors and inconsistencies; infelicities of grammar, usage and syntax; punctuation; and errors in content following publisher guidelines or other style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style, APA, and MLA.
STEM copyeditors:
We are looking for copyeditors who can edit STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) books. The job involves checking and correcting mechanical errors and inconsistencies; infelicities of grammar, usage and syntax; punctuation; and errors in content following the publisher guidelines or other style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style, APA, and AMA. The copyeditor is also expected to edit equations and chemical formulas. Knowledge of MathType, Adobe Acrobat Reader/Professional and LaTex is desirable but not mandatory.
Additional Responsibilities
The job also involves liaising with the author, getting the copyedited files reviewed from them, cleaning up the author-reviewed copyedited files and delivering them on time.

Degree-level education
Expectations
- Expertise in English language
- Based in South Africa
- Impeccable editorial, organizational and communication skills
- At least 2–4 years’ experience working on academic/STEM (science, technology engineering and mathematics) books
