Years of Experience: 8 years
Current Role at Newgen: Senior Executive – Legal Content Writing
Where did you study and what did you specialize in?
I completed my Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Department of Law at the University of Pune, specializing in Business Law, and Science, Technology & Law.
What do you like most about your job as a Legal Content Writer?
What I enjoy most about being a Legal Content Writer is my keen attention to detail. I take pride in ensuring my work is thorough and error-free. It’s fulfilling to know that the precision I apply adds value to the content I create.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
The most challenging part of my role is working in an isolated environment with very little face-to-face interaction with my colleagues. At times, it can be difficult to feel excited about the work when you’re not engaging directly with others. But I’ve learned to adapt and find satisfaction in the focus and independence it brings.
According to you, what are the skills needed to be a Legal Content Writer?
In my opinion, the key skills for a Legal Content Writer are:
- Excellent command over written and verbal communication: Being able to express legal concepts clearly is vital.
- Strong research and analytical skills: This allows me to deep dive into complex legal topics and produce high-quality content.
- Time management: Staying on track and meeting deadlines is crucial in this role.
If you had to convince someone to join as a Legal Content Writer, how would you pitch the role to them?
Contrary to what some people may believe, content writing requires a lot of focus, concentration, and perseverance. However, it has its perks—it helps you gain knowledge in new legal areas and enhances your research, writing, and editing skills. If you’re passionate about law and enjoy writing, this role will allow you to grow in both areas.
What does a day in the life of a content writer look like?
My day typically starts with reading legal documents to effectively analyze the content and draft concise narratives. Once the summaries are ready, I work on package creation for the content and deliver it for further processing and publication in the client’s online research database. It’s also essential to keep track of my daily tasks and productivity to ensure I meet my goals.
